Meet Alex Moore!

“I love to help people. It’s how I was raised and it is who I am at my very core. Being a coach at CrossFit Megalodon has been such an amazing experience. The time I have spent here with our members and staff has been some of the most rewarding times of my life. To see not only the physical but mental changes in people never gets old.

I was born and raised in Venice FL. I was actually born in Venice hospital. I attended Epiphany Catholic School and then went on to Cardinal Mooney High School which is where I discovered my joy of helping others. I played basketball and football and was always drawn towards team sports. From there I followed in my grandfather and uncle’s paths and started a career as a firefighter. I have worked for the Boca Grande Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the last 14 years.

I found CrossFit 14 years ago which at the time was a new online program that was gaining traction through the military/fire/police agencies. From the first workout, I was hooked. I followed online and taught myself as much as I could until finally a CrossFit gym opened in the area (CrossFit Murdock). I showed up the very first day for the very first class. I ended up going to CrossFit Venice East and the owner said “you look like you know what you are doing, do you wanna try coaching?” I jumped at the opportunity and got my CF-L1.

This is where I met Will and Sandra and as one gym closed another opened. Now a little over 8 years later I could not be more proud of what Will and Sandra have done with the development of not only the gym but the community that is CrossFit Megalodon. I look forward to seeing what his family can do in the next 5 years.”
